Book Report and a Cupcake

Blake and his book report project.  Thank goodness that I had so many good scrapbooking supplies still in my basement.  I must say that it was really hard not to do too much of it for him.  I am such a perfectionist.  He did it all by himself - with a lot of suggestions from Brett and I!!!!

I LOVE doing errands with this little girl.  She talked me into letting her have a cupcake for lunch one afternoon.  How could I resist?

My Little Artist

Madison and I went with her girl scout troop to the KIA - Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.  I was so impressed by the museum.  Madison loves to draw, paint...  She doesn't get that from me ---  it is just like her Oma.

Madison is so very serious and shy when she is in a new situation.
The whole troop had a lesson on water coloring painting.
She painted a landscape scene
 My little LEFTY...

 Madison did an awesome job!!!

17 DAYS

My kids had 17 days off for Spring Break.  I took them out of school early because my two sisters came into town.  We traveled to the Detroit area to visit family there and also had lots of cousins at our house.  It was great to see so much family.  The kids loved SKIPPING school - why am I not as excited as them????  The weather was so cooperative and we spent a lot of time outside.

We went to several parks to play...  They all love merry go rounds the best.  I have a very hard time sitting on it...
I talked them into donuts...  If I am going to splurge, a fresh donut is one of my favorite things.  The kids didn't complain.
We renewed our membership to the nature center.
We love hiking the trails.  This tunnel is one of the highlights every single time.
Their shoes were off and they were wading the stream.  It was freezing!

Gravel pit fun.  They love bring rocks home:)
Caitlin did a special class at dance!
We spent an afternoon at John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids.

I am so glad that they still love to play together.

Not another TOOTH!!!

My sweet,  little girl is growing up...  The second wiggly tooth was ready to come out for days.  She wouldn't even let me look at it.

At 6:45am, I heard very fast footsteps coming down the stairs and towards my room.  A super excited little girl was carrying her tooth.  She has been so proud of her empty smile!!!  It didn't stop her from devouring her chocolate bunny :)

Coloring Eggs and Easter HUNT

The kids were pretty independent this year with coloring eggs.  I was just there to make sure that the coloring didn't end up all over my counters, floor or other siblings!!!!  We did 2.5 dozen eggs...

The Easter Bunny had candy all over the house Sunday morning.  I was actually surprised that the kids let me stay in bed until 7:00.  Madison and Blake had been up searching for the GOLDEN EGG...  They couldn't find it!

THe girls were getting ready to start the hunt...
Madison has found the coveted GOLDEN EGG every year so far...
I even got PEEPS...  I love these things!

I busted Caitlin eating tons of peeps before breakfast...

Easter Brunch

This Easter was a little different for us.  We went to brunch at Brett's favorite restaurant on Sunday just the five of us.  Bravo's has a HUGE buffet spread.  It always cracks me up to take the kids there.  Our very picky eaters have plates full of Jello, cheese, crackers, fruit, and waffles.  I will also be very happy when they can get their own food and cut it up by themselves.  They definitely put my waitressing skills to work :)  I didn't miss making the whole turkey dinner and cleaning up all the mess though.

I LOVE these three smiling faces!!!
