Peeing on the Porch

So... Never a dull moment at our house. It was after 7pm, and I was exhausted. Brett was just walking in the door. The kids already had pj's on and I was helping Blake with his homework. Brett wanted all of us to come out and see how the NEW generator worked - it was installed today. I was thinking to myself - really????? They are all cleaned up and settling down. Of course, the second we walk out the front door, they start running all around like wild animals. Izzy started getting all crazy too. She loves to jump up and ATTACK the kids. After 15 minutes out there, I decided that we should head back in. I wanted the kids in BED!!!!! Izzy started attacking me. She was jumping up and biting me. I couldn't get her to stop. The kids thought it was hilarious. I wasn't quite laughing. I decided to try and get the dog in the house and told Caitlin and Madison to run laps around the house. We have actually been doing this - the kids love it!!!!! EXCEPT Izzy can't be out because she will chase them down and bite them.

Blake and I sat back down to finish homework. The girls ran to the front door and started ringing the doorbell. Brett said that we should see how long it takes them to decide to come to the garage door that was unlocked. After several rings, were heard Caitlin start crying - not uncommon. She has started to cry a lot lately and especially if Madison is out there with her. Madison loves to torment her.

Brett went to the front door and opened it. I heard Madison laughing so hard and she said, "Caitlin peed on the front porch!" Caitlin took off crying to my bathroom to take a bath. Brett and I were cracking up. I went into the bathroom to console this hysterical little girl. She looked up at my with these sweet little eyes and said, "I was laughing so hard, that I just peed!" I said, "Why are you crying now then?" She said, "It feels gross". SOOOOO, lets just say that it was past their regular bed time by the time we got them all settled back down.

Brett reminds my often that I am going to miss these crazy days some day...

Busy Week

My calendar for May is completely packed (actually, my whole summer is planned as well)... I am so behind on posting. We have been so busy lately between soccer games, practices, yard work, playing outside, keeping our new puppy entertained and all the end of the year field trips, concerts, and activities.

First of all - the Borgess Run was awesome for all of us. I will post pictures of the Kids' Fun Run, Brett's FIRST 5K and my half marathon. Not bragging too much, but we all rocked our runs!!!!! I love being more healthy as a family. It was so great to be doing this all together this time :)

House projects have been keeping us busy. We are getting invisible fence (around our whole property) generator, septic pumped and two new trees. Brett and I did a lot of yard work and put up more fence in the side yard. Of course, I got poison ivy again. it wouldn't be spring with out it!!!!! I love working in the gardens and just keep adding to them every year.

They have also started working on the side street. Our dead end side street is turning into a cul-de-sac. One house will be going in way back in the woods. It will definitely look different back there. My kids love all the dirt right now... We are just happy that it is going to be only one house and not a whole subdivision.

I have been battling a very sore, stiff neck for over a week. Thank goodness it happened after the HALF!!!!! I have really backed off of running and working out. Brett keeps telling me it happened so that I would give my body a break. I really went all out and trained HARD for this Half Marathon - it was worth it!!!!! Did I mention that I loved my time?????????

Izzy is keeping me very busy. Of course she chewed on Caitlin's new Lelli Kelly shoes... At least the dog has good taste in shoes :)

My great girl friends at an ANNUAL Derby party. Caitlin picked the winning horse again this year!!!!!!
Our happy little puppy!

The Hunt Begins

The kids woke up Easter morning to plastic eggs all over the house. There was one special GOLDEN EGG - Who could find it???? They first had to find their basket and wait until all three had found theirs. Then the crazy egg finding began. It amazed me how fast they found them all.

We had both sets of Grandparents spend the weekend with us!!!

Watch out, Mommy loves PEEPS!!!!

Of course the Easter Bunny brought nail polish...
My little book worm got a new Pokemon book. He read it in one day!

Getting Ready for Easter

We hosted Easter this year at our house. We have never had easter in K-zoo yet since we moved here. The kids don't have any time extra off from school and we were tired of traveling, so we invited everyone here.

My parents came down Friday afternoon. We needed to get cupcakes frosted, decorate eggs, and turkey ready. My kids were so excited.

The girls loved coloring the frosting and then decorating the cupcakes with Oma. Oma always makes the best cakes and cupcakes. We have not had many desserts in our house lately, so the kids were extra excited.

Madison was really interested in the turkey. It was like a science experiment. She touched the inside of the turkey and helped get it ready to be stuffed. When Brett brought out the injected, her eyes opened really wide. I love her enthusiasm to learn!!!!

We colored 15 eggs. The girls wanted to do more!!!!
