Happy Easter

We finally had some sun today! The day started with a great Easter egg hunt. Blake found "the golden egg" this year. Someone else was not happy about that. We met grandma and papa at Bravo for an early dinner. This next week is Spring Break! We have something planned everyday. I'm so looking forward to no homework, packing lunches and running everywhere for all our after school activities.

It was so fun to dress up and match with the girls.  Blake is growing like crazy.  I'm sure that he will pass me up by the end of the summer.

Rabbit Training

My girls are in love with this rabbit. They are training him to do tricks and our stairs... Can't believe that I'm saying it, but he is a great pet. Check out his little shirt in the picture.  We LOVE you Romeo.

Bring on the SUN!!

We FINALLY bought a boat...  Brett and I both grew up in boat families and have so many memories out on the water that we can't wait to make more with the kids this summer.

We woke up Saturday and drove to the Detroit area to the boat show.  The kids loved it.  They went on tons of boats and were very impressed with the boats with beds and TV's.

They were so cute on the 2 hour drive there.  All three sat in the truck with their tunes rocking.  I can't believe how grown up they are.

I made the girls get this picture.  They are WAY too cool for Dora, but did the picture with me anyway.  Thank goodness bribing still works.
Never too old for face painting
This is our bow...  These two will spend a lot of time up there!

All Blake could think about was the shark exhibit.  He quickly threw his hand up in the air as soon as they asked for a volunteer.  He was a great addition to the show.  He was super funny and impressed the guy with all his facts...

He was even willing to climb up the stairs to jump in the tank.  He actually was very disappointed when they said that he really couldn't do it.

Blake got a shark tooth that they found on the bottom of the tank.

We all had so much fun...

We also had a great visit and dinner with Oma and Opa.

Caitlin loved playing the part of the WILD CAT!!!!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Madison was one excited little girl.  Our school does the dance only for 3-5 graders.  This years theme was neon...  Perfect for little girls, but not so great for DADS--haha.

I took Madison to Justice.  She quickly picked out this little outfit.  Thank goodness it was a casual year as well.  Brett ordered her a little wrist corsage and she was a VERY happy daddy's girl.

They went out to dinner together and then went to the dance.  All of her little buddies were there.  She danced with Brett a little and her friends A LOT :)

Second Successful Year

I am so proud of my kids and the whole swim team. We did awesome at the state meet!!! The 8 and under age group came in FIRST place. These kids work so hard.

9 and older came in SECOND place. They were great. The kids were able to have a pizza party. We had the trophies there and took these adorable pics. Blake was having so much fun in the pool that I didn't get a good picture of him with the trophy... It was great to see them play in the pool instead of just swimming laps!!!

School Celebrations

I love our school...  They always have the best things lined up for the kids.  Lately, we have been all about reading.

We just finished BATTLE of the BOOKS.  A good friend of mine and I coached a team of boys.  It was quite an adventure.  There were several times that I was questioning why I picked the boys team to coach--  the times they were wrestling on the floor, making shooting noises, or just tearing around my house to name a few.  In the end, I couldn't have been more proud of our group.  Way to go Chapter Raptors!!!

We had 10 books to read and learn as many facts as possible about those books.  We created multiple games for them to play to help them stay motivated to learn.  We met every Sunday afternoon to review authors, facts and eat snacks...

Madison was also involved.  She was on a team of all girls.  Her team's name was BOOK'S BEST FRIEND.  It was really fun to have all three of us read all 10 books and be able to talk about them and quiz each other.

Madison and her friend went for a pedicure after the battle to celebrate...

Each team designed their own shirt...  They turned out super cute...

This morning I sent Blake and Madison off to school for a school wide celebration of books.  They were able to dress up as their favorite book.  I had one night to prepare.  I was scrambling last night and trying hard to get my creative juices going.

Madison - The Velveteen Rabbit...  I love her customized shirt
 Blake - Warriors...
Caitlin went to school last week as a Dalmation to celebrate 101 days of school.
